IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

Original Artwork* needs to be submitted for Visual Art or Photography applications only. Upload a digital file, or photo, of the artwork in the application form. After submit the original at the front office using the drop box located under the Art Reflections table (starting September 2025).

*On the BACK of original artwork write students name, teacher's last name and grade. To ensure fair judging, do not include any names or signatures on the front of the work.

More Information

The National PTA Reflection Art Program is an arts contest that recognizes and celebrates student creativity and achievement. The program is open to students in grades Pre-K through 12, who submit original works of art in a variety of categories. Seacliff PTA will blind review artwork based on the criteria. Students' artwork will be selected in each category and division to move on to the next competition level - from Local PTA, Council PTA, District PTA, State PTA, and finally to National PTA.

 Entry Requirements:
All participants must follow the Arts Category and Division Rules. Only new artwork inspired by the theme may be submitted.
Each entry must be created by a single student. Adults are not allowed to alter or influence the work. The program aims to recognize each student's individual creativity, so help from adults or collaboration with other students is not permitted, except in the Accessible Arts Division. Only one student can be named as the award recipient for each entry. While other people may appear in or perform in the work, the artwork itself must be the original creation of one student. Please see the specific Arts Category Rules for more details.
Every entry must have a title and include an artist statement. The statement should explain what inspired the work, how it connects to the theme, and describe what the work shows. The statement must be at least 10 words and no more than 100 words. Use of copyrighted material is not allowed, except for recorded music used in dance choreography and film production. Plagiarized work will be disqualified. Additionally, PowerPoint presentations are not permitted, as most graphic elements are copyrighted.

Criteria — All PTA Reflections program entries are judged on three criteria:

Interpretation of Theme (40 pts.) How closely the piece relates to the theme, based on the artwork itself and the artist statement.

Creativity (30 pts.) How creative and original the piece is in its conception of the theme and its presentation.

• Technical Skill (30 pts.) The level of skill demonstrated in the basic principles/techniques of the arts area.

Just be yourself and enjoy the creative process!
